Office & General Manager
REPORTING TO: Elected team
DIRECT REPORTS: bookkeeper
TYPE OF POSITION: full-time, permanent contract
Key responsibilities
- Supervision of all operational, HR and finance related work including the overall administration and coordination of staff matters, HR policy in close cooperation with the leadership and in consultation with the staff representation
- Supervision of the membership work including relations with affiliates, membership fees, preparing reports for Executive Committee and Congress, maintenance of the online database etc.
- Supervision of the office management including property management, purchasing and maintaining of office equipment, furniture, fittings and managing all non-IT contracts.
- Providing basic IT support including liaising with hardware and software providers, ensuring continuity through operational management of office hardware software and maintaining databases, first contact point for assisting staff with basic IT problems.
- Support of the General Secretary and/or the elected team
We are looking for a candidate with
- Graduate level education or equivalent experience
- Minimum experience of 10 years in trade unions and/or in not-for-profit organisations at national or European level
- Good understanding of HR, finance and office management related matters
- Proven experience in IT basic skills
- Fluent in English, French and/or Dutch (written and spoken), any other European language is an asset
- Social skills, capability to, communicate, lead, coach and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Capability to solve problems swiftly irrespective of their nature (human, technical, administratively… ) react flexibly and proactively to new challenges
- Able to work independently but also to cooperate with other members of the management team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of the political processes and functioning of the EU a strong asset
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office application & administration and ability to learn and teach staff members on individual needs
- Availability to travel regularly

Internship vacancy notice
IndustriAll Europe is looking for a motivated intern to support the work of our policy teams. IndustriAll Europe has policy work on collective bargaining and social policy, industrial policy and company policy. Currently we are only looking for an interested candidate to work on Just Transition and training topics. The specific focus of the work will be adapted in agreement with the candidate and the responsible policy advisors.
An intern is someone who is still studying and a stage is part of your final year of educational or academic training. It is based on a contract with your school or university that spells out the learning objectives. We only accept stages for a minimum of 6 months.
We are looking for someone who is dedicated to trade union values. We ask for a very good command of English (C2 for reading, writing and speaking). Other European languages are welcome. We need someone with good analytical and writing skills, as well as good communication and organisational skills. Multiple educational backgrounds are welcome, such as political and social sciences, humanities, legal and economic disciplines.
We offer the possibility to work in a professional and international environment. Financial compensation is foreseen.
